Happy Birthday Mickenzie!

Ok so I am busy with the Happy Birthday posts lately!

Some of the wonderful reasons I love Mickenzie:

1) She lets me sleep in her bed

2) She dances the Hoedown Throwdown with me

3) She loves to nap. In fact, she gets a little grumpy if she doesn't take a nap

4) Sometimes she goes to Taco Bell twice in one day

5) She is fearless. Like the time she told P. Wheel's wife that she couldn't swim in the school pool because she was wearing a tankini. Or the time that she told her accounting teacher that she didn't do her homework because of the opportunity cost of meeting her eternal companion.

Love you Princess!

I am busy this week.

And I don't like being busy. But after next Thursday, I am FREE!

I graduate next Friday.

Favorite moments of the day:

1. Studying for <45 minutes for my Hospitality Law test and getting an 88%

2. The prime rib and mashed potatoes that I ate for dinner at the Business Graduation Banquet

3. Seeing the dear mother of my school, S. Wheel, with a slit in her skirt that ended closer to her behind than her knees (which is a clear violation of our lovely Honor Code)

4. My Smartwater that looks like it has a pink goldfish swimming in it

5. Seven missed calls from my mom when I woke up. I know she loves me!

6. Its Kenz's birthday. Birthdays are wonderful.

7. I almost cut my bangs way too short. Don't worry, I saved them.

8. Sparkly eyeliner

9. MM entertaining me with thrift store stories. I laughed out loud during class

10. Tomorrow is my last day of work!

It all started with Cat-a-pult.

Cat-a-pult is a game that MM found for $1.99 at Savers (where else?) Cat-a-pult is an amazing game that consists of launching foam cats with plastic catapults. Everytime we talk about or play Cat-a-pult, MM says
"Wow I really want this game called Nun Chuck. You chuck nuns with this little gun. It's sooooo funny!"
He must have said this at least 30 times.

I got it for him for his birthday. He had no idea.
It is not very often that MM's curiosity is peaked, but I managed it. For the past two weeks, I have been giving him small hints. Just enough to keep him interested but not enough to allow him to guess the gift. He guessed and guessed, but he was never right.  When I wrapped it the night before his birthday, I texted him the above picture. MM (who has a love/mostly hate realtionship with his cell phone) surprisingly texted me right back.
MM "Wow more excited than before! Make ya a deal. Since it's my birthday on the mainland, i'll come open it after work."

I gave in. Two weeks of tortue was enough. His work ended at 11:00, I think he was on my porch by 11:02.

Once he opened it, he covered his face and laughed hysterically for five minutes straight. Once he gained his composure, he opened the package and proceeded to launch small plastic nuns at David and Suzanne for 20 minutes. Then we had to play Cat-a-pult and Nun Chuck at the same time.

On Sunday, he brought Nun Chuck over. He launched the nuns into his birthday cake.
They stuck in the frosting. Hysterical laughter followed.

Kona Temple Trip

After 2 hours of sleep, Pocahontas and I set off to the buses.

It was 2:40 am. No one should ever have to wake up at this time. Don't get me wrong, I have definately been awake at 2:40 before. Its just that those times, it was because I hadn't been to bed. This time it was because I had been to bed and then rudely awakened by my alarm clock.

We were sure we looked ridiculous walking down the street in the middle of the night in our church clothes.

Me and Pocahontas on the school bus. By 3 am we were on our way to the airport.

Waiting to get on the airplane.

The tired faces of MM, Pocahontas and me

MM and Me on the airplane.

We got to Kona about 6 am and got on another bus to the temple. After our assigned time to go into the temple ended at 8:30 am, we had nothing to do until we left to go back to the airport at 3:30.
Boredom ensued.

Pocahontas took pictures of the beautiful orchids

And tried to catch geckos. They were too fast for her. Even with the lure of wheat thins and candy.

Me, MM and Tialei enjoying the sunshine on the bench.

Keli'i and Pocahontas

This picture describes the day the Pocahontas and MM had with each other. They bugged one another every chance they got. I almost lost it on them. Ming and Tialei snacking in the background.

Keli'i doing his turtle moves in our animal noise games.

We were soooooo tired, but it was worth it.

Birthday Cake

Because of the temple trip on Saturday morning, MM went to bed at 7pm on his birthday (Friday night.)
He refuses to smile for pictures, but I can guarantee that he is jumping for joy on the inside at the mere prospect of consuming 1/4 of a bundt cake with cream cheese frosting.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MM!

**Please also take note of Nun Chuck sitting right by MM's right arm. He totally brought it over for Sunday dinner.

Facebook is corrupting

the minds of bright, young college students. At my workplace, I have to administer teacher evaluations. As I was collecting them in one class, I noticed that all one person could manage to write was this:

Apparently he or she had no brain power left to even comment on the teacher or the course.

I have a religion teacher who

thinks he is very, very funny. No one, save MM, laughs at his jokes. There are a few reasons for this. The first and most importantly being that 99% of the time they are simply not funny. The other being that teaching at such a culturally diverse school such as mine will guarantee you a student body of college students who can barely recognize their own name when it is called on the roll let alone a bad joke. But I will give him credit for two things.

1. He can effortlessly write upside down.

2. He has taken the time to make himself a Wikepedia page, which is one of our go to web locations when we need a good laugh. As MM so appropriately put it "Who Wikipedias themself?????"
The tragedy of the Wikipedia page is that it doesn't have a picture.
But don't worry.

His website totally does.

So this picture provides a favorite moment for a few reasons

It is a spy cam pic (Taken at Forever 21 on Black Friday.)
And
It makes me think of a few choice responses that my daddy dear would say aloud when he sees a "smurf."

You have your pick of
A) "Too bad her parents don't love her."
B) Dead silence
or my personal favorite
C) "Trick or treat"

Happy Birthday MM!!

As the tradition goes, on someone's B-day, I post 5 of my favorite things about them:
1. MM makes yummy cinnamon rolls (I still think mine might be better, but he'll never know!)
2. MM has a gift for making animal noises. He can scare me to death when he sneaks up behind me and makes his famous goat noise.
3. He totally pulls off red cowboy boots. We participate in cowboy boots day (Started by Leena Lou.)
4. He uses subliminal messaging to get our religion teacher to end class early.
5. He is always willing to help me when I need help. Even if it's rescuing me and Kenz at 3:30 in the morning!

Happy Birthday MM!

Sometimes Pocahontas and I play on the playground.

Lay on the swinging bridge,

Slide down the slide,

Get stuck on the slide,

Easily scale up to the top of the basketball hoop,

AND practice our "Tree Sloth" poses!

Pocahontas is just learning to be a sloth :)

Me hanging upside down!

Oh the joys of living in a town where you have to create your own fun.

The Red Theory

Ok so I have alot of theories. My roomies and I talk about them all the time and even refer to them by their formal names such as the ECS theory (which I will explain later) or the hot/crazy scale (from HIMYM but totally acurate.) This post is the beginning of revealing some of my best kept secrets. I will begin with a simple theory that can be explained with a few short phrases.

Read carefully so as not to get offended.

The Red Theory

If a girl is crazy (and by crazy I mean really truly a psycho) her favorite color is red.

***If a girl's favorite color is red, that does not by any means determine her craziness.

At a school activity once,

we were given these lovely camo bracelets as proof that we were students. They gave us access to the sports, food and most importantly the bounce house.
Someone suggested that we have a little friendly competition to see who could keep theirs on the longest.

What started as a friendly little bet turned into a fierce, month long competition between me and Kenz. She seemed to not mind the bracelet, but it drove me crazy. It itched, it accumulated sweat, it didn't match my clothes, it started to grow mold and people were always wondering if it was from the hospital. Uh hello last time I checked you don't get a blue camo bracelet when you are admitted to the hospital. I endured for weeks and weeks.

One night I just couldnt take it any longer. I was laying on the bed next to Kenz and told her that as much as I didn't want to lose, I was going to take mine off.

She made a face at me (a famous Kenz face) and announced "Oh mine came off a few weeks ago. Oops guess I forgot to tell you....."
