I already said this on FB

but it was too funny, I have to say it again.
Here is is straight from FB

today at the store the checkout lady said " do you want to buy a re-usable shopping bag to do your part in saving the environment?" I said sure. It was only 99cents AND it was pink. THEN she put it in a plastic bag and handed it to me! HAHA

I was going to make a post

exactly like this one! Since Banana beat me to it, I will just let her get some more blog traffic.
                                                               Read it HERE.

                                                      THIS WAS HILARIOUS!

WHY do people do this?

Your wedding day is supposed to be one of the best days of your life. Girls should feel like a princess. Guys should feel like they came straight out of a fashion magazine. Converse do not add to this look. What is the appeal of a bride wearing guys shoes? Yes they are guys shoes. They come in men sizes. Please no!

I have to say this.

I am so sick of having this conversation, I figured I would just post it on my blog and then hopefully, magically everyone will know the truth and I can just keep quiet about it.

Me: "Oh you got your haircut!" (As I think in my head OH MY you Fantined yourself. You know like Fantine from Les Mis who sells her hair to support her child. Thats what we call it at my house.)

Fantine victim: "Yeah! I donated it to Locks of Love where they'll make a wig and give it to a child with cancer!" they excitedly explain.

I have absolutely no problem with hair donation but I really feel like people should know where their hair is going. So, lets dissect this sentence and I will critique based upon my research from the LoL website.

...make a wig and GIVE it to a child....

" Hair that is short, gray, or otherwise unusable will be sold to help offset manufacturing costs."

Not ALL the hair is turned into wigs! Surprise! Also hair that is bleached or damaged cannot be used and is sold. Who buys it? Oh you know, just hair extension companies. So just when you think your hair is being worn on the bald scalp of a sick child it is actually being worn by a movie star or the Real Housewives of Orange county/New York/Atlanta. Or me and Leena Lou....

"We provide hairpieces and repairs free of charge or on a sliding scale based on the financial need of those responsible for the children."

What can we deduct from this? Very good- they in fact do not GIVE away all their hairpieces for free.

                                           ....A child with CANCER!.....

"Q. What are some of the medical conditions of the children you help?
A. Most of our recipients suffer from alopecia areata. Others have experienced hair loss from radiation therapy and chemotherapy, severe burns or trauma, and various other genetic and dermatological conditions."

What can we deduct from this? Alopecia is NOT cancer. Most cancer patients will not qualify for LoL because their hair will grow back after chemo. To qualify for Lol you need long-term hairloss.

In conclusion, if you want to donate your hair to help kids with long-term hair loss, use LoL.  If you want to help people with cancer where they receive the wig free of charge then please please please use Pantene Beautiful Lengths. They give their wigs to women with cancer for free through the American Cancer Society.
                                          Thats all. Spread the word.

*** Wait. One more thing. If you want to donate your hair I beg you to get it cut by someone who knows how. Putting your hair into a ponytail and chopping off the ponytail is not a stylish and acceptable haircut!

I spent the weekend with one of my favorite people

           HANNAH BANANA
We were griping about boys. We had the EXACT same thing happen to us this year with boyfriends. It was late at night. Hannah said (regarding boys) "I'm an acquired taste. I'm like vegemite. A lot of people like me but I just take some getting used to!"

B Day Celebration Activities

First, on my real birthday my family surprised me by going to soosh.
The owner was so happy it was my birthday that he made me a bear out of an orange with an umbrella
And a plate of mochi ice cream flowers
Then a few days later, grammy and grandpa came up with my uncle Kim and my cousin Heather (who were visiting from Canada.) We had strawberry shortcake :)

THEN on the night of my real birthday Kels and Dewster and Mac and Puff surprised me with a party. They made BBQ chicken pizza in the shape of a princess crown and we ate off of princess dishes.
Party hats are always a favorite.
Puff, me and Mac with my Cindy music box that I love so very much!

One day, we went to Costco.

I blame this on Puff, because it was his job to unload the car.
My mommy even said "Hey Puff did you get everything out of Kirsi's trunk?"
"Yep" he replied.
But 24 hours later, I discovered what he missed.
FISH
With heads.
It was gross!
When we got in the car, Lexi even asked her sister if she passed gas.

Every Christmas, we have the annual

Egg Nog testing party. We taste lots of different egg nogs and decide which one we like best.
Then, in the summer we have rootbeer testing.
Todd, Puff, Mommy, Me, Craig and Stephanie
Lisa, Tanz, Daddy and Abigail
The whole group. (The Smiths, the Merrills and us)
Craig tallying the results.....
Me giving a refill to Todd.
The kids attacking Leena Lou
Oh you wanna know the winner?

Ok
#1 in the group was A&W, which I was surprised by.
My number one was IBC.

There is a moment in my life which is still a sore discussion spot.

I have seen every episode of 7th Heaven and ADORE it. Especially Kevin Kinkurk (George Stults), who marries Lucy Camden (Beverly Mitchell). She's grumpy and doesn't deserve a hottie like him. That is another story.
George Stults is on the left, his brother Geoff is on the right.

SO we find out that their grandma is our next door neighbor. Forever we wait for the day when they will come to visit their grandma and we can stalk them. Everyone has to visit their grandma sooner or later, right? Well in January 2006 I went off to study for a semester in Nauvoo, Illinois. The day after I left I got a text from my bestie Kels. It was a picture message. My heart sank. It was a picture of George and Geoff. They had finally come to visit their grandma like we had been anticipating since practically the beginning of time. Kels, Leena Lou, Rachie Boodle and Puff all got to meet them. And I was left out. I still get bitter and a little jealous when they talk about it.

Which is precisely the reason that they bring it up ALL the time. Ok not all the time but like once a month probably. The most recent time was the worst. Puff and Leena Lou and I were in my car. Puff brought it up and said "Yeah I got their autograph and everything!"
"YOU DID?" I asked. I didn't know he had that.
"Where is it?" I wondered
"Oh I dunno I probably threw it away or something. I don't really care!" Puff said

Sometimes life is just not fair!

Want to know where I am today?

DISNEYLAND! Again.
It is the happiest place on earth you know.
We will be going at least once each month for a year.
Why? Because we got annual passes!

If you allow me to be materialistic for a minute, that lil card has quickly shot to the top ten posessions list in my life.
I absoultely love Disneyland!
Hopefully today I will get to chat with Cindy, go on Thunder Mountain and see the fireworks!

I had the best birthday ever!

A week before my bday we went to Disneyland. I love that.
My friends threw me a surprise party (Thanks Kels and Dewster)
Lots of people called to wish me a Happy Birthday
Mommy and Daddy got me this adorable bracelet. Sorry the pic is fuzzy. It has a huge strawb on it :)
Grammy and Gramps gave my this adorable Juicy Couture cupcake necklace. It hasn't left my neck.
Leena Lou, Mac and Puff got me this Cinderella music box. I love Cindy, she's my favorite princess. Someone once told me that people pick their favorite princess by choosing the one that looks closest to them. While I do have blonde hair like Cinderella, that's not why she is my fave. I love her because she likes to clean and she has a cheery attitude at all times. Just like me.
Seriously I didn't know I wanted this music box until I saw it at ACE Hardware (who would have thought) but then I fell in love with it right away. And they surprised me and got it.
And finally, thanks to a very generous gift from my bosses Carol and Bob, I got a new car. Her name is Miss Belle and she's the best!

Happy Birthday to me!
