Yesterday as I was on my way into church,
I ran into my friend Stella. She is an Italian woman who I have known for a long time. Her sister, who did not speak any English, was visiting from Italy. Her sister looked me up and down and her eyes lit up. She got a huge smile on her face and started speaking in Italian really fast with lots of hand motions. I couldn't understand a word she was saying. Stella translated: "She thinks you look like a Barbie. And she wants to take you home in her suitcase."
Wait.....
"Now she says you can't come to Italy with her until you are married because the Italian men will be all over you!"
Random, but of course I was flattered :)

When I was little, I remember owning a few
pairs of these, Jelly Sandals. I desperately want a pair of pink glittery jellies for the summer. There is one problem. Shoe manufacturers seem to think that the only people who will want to wear these are small children. They are dead wrong.
Which makes my search for these sparkly beauties next to impossible. In one google image search for jelly sandals, half the results were for Crocs. Which only made me even more upset.
PUH-LEASE
These are OBVIOUSLY not the same shoes.
And anyone that knows me, knows I have an aversion to Crocs. Banana and I are the "Croc Hunters." And we hunt to kill.
If you see any adult sized Jelly sandals will you kindly let me know? I'll even sacrifice the glitter.

You might be a redneck...
"If you have at least one non-working appliance in your yard, or a couch"
We have had our old dishwasher out on the back patio for about a month now.
I'm just saying.

Service Proj
Some of us did more cleaning than others...
Yes, I have my sweatshirt tied around my waist like 2nd grade.
About once a month,
I come across somebody who is obsessed with my eyebrows. Once, in Nordstrom I was purfume shopping with Harvey and Banana. The lady who was helping us went on and on for 20 minutes about how amazing my eyebrows were. When she found out that I didn't wax them or pluck them or anything that just extended the conversation. A few months ago I was trying on sunglasses and the sales girl was doing the same thing. Wierd.

Once upon a time
a few weeks ago, I was at work. It was lunchtime. There was quite a gathering around the kitchen table. Me, the three kids (Chris, Mike and Abby) and their parents and both the grandmas.
Chris (the oldest boy who is 12) was sitting next to Carol (his mom.) The sun was shining on him just right so that when Carol looked over at him she caught a little glimpse of some facial hair beginning to form on his upper lip.
Carol said "OH MY GOSH CHRIS are you growing a mustache??"
I thought for sure that Chris would be mortified at this discussion of puberty in front of everyone. I really thought he would get mad and snap at his mom for bringing it up.
Instead, he got a huge grin on his face and with a shout of triumph said "I AM? YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! I WANT A MUSTACHE SO BAD!!!!!!!!"
On that same note, Puff was telling me how one of the boys in his scout troop was announcing to everyone that the reason he was late to scouts was because "I was shaving." (Emphasis in the word shave)
Another boy I know used to keep track of how many armpit hairs he was growing.
I think it is so funny.

THis weekend we went to a movie premiere
for 10 Years Later. I am in it. So is Leena Lou.
We found our long lost friend Jono (that has nothing to do with the movie) but we just wanted a group pic.
Mommy, Jono, Me, Leena Lou and Puff
Naturally, If a piece of your
tailpipe breaks off you should just improvise with a piece of rain gutter.
* and yes I took this picture while I was driving, BUT we were stopped in traffic.

Every morning
when I walk out my front door I stop and look at this tree for a few seconds.
I love it when it has these beautiful tiny pink blossoms on it :)
Thats the way to start a day off right.

I love my job.
I get to do things like
decorate Abby with henna designs
And turn cardboard, duct tape, spray paint and a popcorn bucket into an ancient suit of armor!

I hope I'm not the only one that
finds my little brother hilarious. But seriously.
Daddy: Umm Miks I was up in your room earlier and I had a hard time figuring out what time it was.
Puff: Why?
Daddy: Well it seems like your clocks are the wrong time.
Puff: One of them is 40 minutes fast and the other is 6 minutes slow.
Daddy: Oh I see
Puff: You just subtract 40 minutes from the time. I like it that way.
