I have been home from school for 4 months.

In those 4 months, I have been to church every Sunday except 1. So imagine my shock when one of the very active young men in our ward came running up to me a few days ago and said "Kirsi what are you doing home from BYU????"

MY BROTHER IS COMING HOME IN

2 WEEKS!

The internet according to "old people"

Granny (my BFF's grandma): Oh I can't check my email at your house

Kels: Sure you can. We have a computer here.

Granny: It won't work

Kels: Why not?

Granny: Because my computer at home is turned off! How will this computer get my email?

Abbs Moment

Today after I picked Abbs up from school, she wanted to get a snack. She always gets a snack. The boys were in school for another hour, so it was up to her to choose. She chose Carls Jr because of their milkshakes.

We were waiting in line and she was looking at the milkshake poster. All of the sudden she looked up at me and said "Kirs Birs I don't want my snack from here anymore."

"Why not?" I asked her.

"Because" she said, pointing up to the milkshake sign "it says hand-scooped ice cream and thats disgusting! They need to use a spoon!"

The two college boys behind us in line started cracking up. I explained to her what hand-scooped meant and she said "Well then they shouldn't say that on the poster!"

I just realized something.

Do you remember this post?

or my more recent post about bacon donuts?

Well I realized that Puff comes by these dining habits completely honestly. You see, my family only eats things in the combination of salty/sweet. Not together in the same dish, but for example milkshakes and french fries. Or salad with rasins.  Mango or watermelon with salt. Rice krispie treats with dinner. Banana in sushi. Peanut butter banana toast. Mango salsa. Honey roasted peanuts. Apples and cheese. Carmel popcorn.  Dates wrapped in bacon. Dates on top of guacamole. Chocolate covered pretzels. Candy and popcorn. I really hate the overwhelming monotony of eating all salty or all sweet. The combination is necessary. This may sound totally gross to you, but if your tounge doesn't understand salty/sweet then it probably would be gross. I happen to love it.

I think I will give Puff a break.

Why do i think this?

Cuz the other day we were sitting around the table eating sushi

with a side of vanilla ice cream.

DDD Roadtrip!

Day 2 of NO parents:
Puff is obsessed with Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on the Food Network.
So, we went on a little roadtrip to LA to eat at 2 of them. First, we went to the
Nickel Diner in downtown LA
We got there around 11 and had to wait about 30 minutes to get a table.
Puff's hamburger which he describes as "juicy, moist but yet dry. Inbetween. roasted bun with flavor. perfection" (whatever that means haha)
This was my Chicken salad sandwhich, which was amazing!
At the table next to us, we watched a man literally kiss his bacon donut and then put it into a to-go box.
We decided that we had better try a bacon donut. I thought it was good, not what I expected. Puff LOVED it and scarfed down most of it.
Goes right along with our family's love for salty-sweet food combinations.
View from the parking garage

Next, we did a little shopping in downtown LA, which is my favorite. Check back tomorrow for my shoe bargains! Then we went to IKEA and Nordstrom rack.
We were trying to pass the time between lunch and dinner so that we could go to our next DDD!
Finally when it was dinner time, we drove over to Venice Beach to go to

Puff with the sauces. BBQ, home made tobasco, XXX (the SUPER hot one!), and sweet.

Our food. It was yummy. Puff thought he had died and gone to heaven.
Brisket, pulled pork, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, corn on the cob with parmesean cheese and lime, cornbread and of course all the yummy sauces.
Stuffed after dinner
But happy none the less.

*We may or may not have gone to Pinkberry on the way home. If you know me at all, you know the answer. Wink Wink.

My parents and Leena Lou

went to Utah to go to General Conference for our church. All of the Young Women went.
That left me and Puff home alone.
But don't worry about us, we can make our own fun.
Day 1: Cleaned the house
Gym
Mani/ Pedis
Puff's guilty pleasure

Met Grammy and Gramps in Santa Barbara for lunch at Brophy Brothers.
And then of course, Pinkberry :)

Stay tuned for Day 2!

Happy Easter!

Hope it was as happy as the lady who dressed up her Mini Cooper to look like a bunny, complete with nose and ears!

For a while, I was obsessed with

Leena Lou, the very talented Katie Boeck, Puff, Matt and me

WICKED! I must have listened to the soundtrack a thousand times. I know every word. When the play was over, I wanted it to start over from the beginning.

But now, I have a new obsession. I am saving my money to go to London and see it.
Love Never Dies is amazing music. It has been on non-stop repeat for the last 72 hours.
You should definately watch this and then buy the CD!

To go along with my obsession with Strawbs,

I got this at Forevs the other day with Leena Lou.
Kinda makes me want to go eat strawbs instead of blog....

At this very moment, I am craving

eucalyptus ice cream from The Slanted Door in San Fran. I have only been there one time, but it remains in my top 10 favorite restaurants ever. A MUST if you're ever in San Francisco.

These were amazing also.

I am pretty sure that for a short period of time

Kenz was on this diet. I thought this was so funny when I saw it at the grocery store.
